Having owned this vise almost five years now, I think it's safe to give my opinion about the quality of the vise. It is heavy and extremely heavy duty. It has survived four and a half years longer than any other vise I've purchased. When creating a work environment for yourself or under employment with others, the vise is the anchoring tool in any well equipped shop. It is how you earn your money. It is the tool used more than any other in your toolbox. It is the helping hand that gets a grip on the problem at HAND. It needs to be solid enough to withstand the punishment thrown at it day after day. This is the vise you're looking for.Yes there is some stiffness in the movement when trying to clamp down on the jaws, but it's only because you had a six foot cheater pipe applied to the handle the week before and you're afraid it was finished. But with some commen sense maintenance, cleaning and a little lubrication it operates like new again.Seriously other vise would have snapped off at the throat if a six foot pipe was used on them. This vise has been worth every penny paid for it, as well as all of the other Capri tools in my arsenal. Bring your tools stateside completely and you'll have a lifelong customer here.
